MEET YOUR TRAINER, JESS

About Me

Hi, I’m Jess Janda! I’m a Certified Personal Trainer with over 10 years of experience helping women and men build strength and confidence. As the owner of Train with Jess Janda, my goal is to empower my clients to not only transform their bodies but also develop the mindset and lifestyle that lead to lasting results. I believe fitness should be sustainable, empowering, and realistic—no quick fixes or chasing perfection.

I’m also a mom, and I understand the unique challenges women face balancing life, family, and self-love. Over the years, I’ve worked in demanding roles—from being a police officer to currently working as an electrician—so I know firsthand the importance of discipline, resilience, and hard work. I’m very active, love spending time outdoors in nature and warm weather, and enjoy creative outlets like sewing and making crazy Halloween costumes!

I’m deeply passionate about helping my clients feel their best, inside and out. My approach combines expertise, encouragement, and real-life experience so every client can achieve results, gain confidence, and feel empowered to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

My Fitness Journey

After having my son in 2006, my weight fluctuated significantly. I felt unhappy, insecure, and stuck in a cycle of fad diets. Each program gave me short-term results, but the moment it ended, the weight returned—often leaving me more frustrated than before.

By 2014, after years of yo-yo dieting, I made a true commitment to my fitness journey. In the beginning, I struggled with confidence in the gym and had little understanding of what I was doing. Thankfully, my son’s father encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, especially when it came to using the free-weight section. That support gave me the push I needed to start learning and growing.

In 2016, my efforts began paying off. I started seeing consistent results, and fitness quickly became more than a hobby—it became a passion. I trained six days a week, often twice a day, resting only when my body physically demanded it. Around that time, women in the gym began approaching me, asking if I would train them. Although I had no formal certification then, their trust and encouragement gave me confidence that I could turn my passion into something greater.

In 2017, I became a Certified Fitness Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association and officially began accepting clients. Helping women achieve results and regain confidence quickly became one of my greatest joys. I found a special connection with mothers, as I personally understood the physical and emotional changes that come with pregnancy and childbirth. My clientele grew so rapidly that I often felt overwhelmed balancing part-time training with my full-time job. Still, I knew I had found my true calling.

Despite being in excellent physical shape, I struggled with my own insecurities. My son was nearly 10 pounds at birth, and the loose skin on my stomach was something I could not fix through training alone. After careful research and saving, I made the decision to undergo a tummy tuck. The recovery was mentally challenging, as I was forced to step away from my active lifestyle. However, my surgeon was impressed with how quickly I healed, crediting my fitness level for the faster recovery.

Once I fully recovered, my confidence grew tremendously. I was—and still am—open about my corrective surgery, because I want women to understand the reality: no amount of training can eliminate loose skin. I encourage anyone considering surgery to first reach their healthiest possible condition, both physically and mentally, as the process is costly and recovery can be demanding.

As women, we face constant pressure surrounding appearance, amplified even more by social media. Society pushes an unrealistic standard of beauty, suggesting that we must look like “Barbie” to be considered attractive. I emphasize to my clients and followers that true transformation involves the mind as much as the body. Even after surgery, I battled insecurities for years. Over time, I learned to embrace my so-called flaws—stretch marks, cellulite, and all. My weight still fluctuates, but I now view my body with love and appreciation rather than criticism.

From 2018 to the present, I have continued to grow my clientele, largely through social media. By building my presence on Instagram, I have been able to share my journey, inspire others, and motivate people around the world to pursue healthier, more active lifestyles. Fitness has given me not only physical strength but also the ability to empower others to find confidence within themselves.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to help people transform their lives through fitness—and to remind them that self-love is the most powerful result of all.

I’m really looking forward to starting this journey with you, and I can’t thank you enough for all your support—it truly means the world to me!
